Funding for the North Brunswick Train Station celebrated

Station receives $50 million from state funding, Middlesex County commits to construction of parking facilities

It was an afternoon of celebration on Saturday, October 28 at the Greene Turtle Sports Bar and Grille as Mayor Francis ‘Mac’ Womack, along with State and Middlesex County officials and the Township Council, announced funding for the North Brunswick train station at the Main Street North Brunswick transit village.

The State of New Jersey, through the efforts of State Senate President Stephen Sweeney and the 17th District delegation of State Senator Bob Smith and Assemblymen Joseph Egan and Joe Danielsen, secured $50 million from the state Transportation Trust Fund for the project. Middlesex County announced its support by committing to the construction of the parking facilities at the train station site.

North Brunswick Station Included In $400M Transportation Funding

TTF funding to advance North Brunswick Transit Village – The signing of a transportation funding bill in the state Senate on Thursday will advance the new rail station project in the township on the Northeast Corridor line. Sens. Bob Smith, Joseph F. Vitale and Patrick J. Diegnan Jr. lauded the signing of the bill (S-3076) that will increase TTF investments in the current fiscal year by $400 million. Read More >>
